This month saw more fun events happening at the British Cultural Centre (BCC) part of the International Culture Park at the University of Shanghai for Science & Technology (USST).

May was dedicated to entertaining our international guests from the UK’s Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), who were visiting us again as part of our two universities’ annual exchange programme.

With a shorter programme this year, our activities included introducing traditional Chinese culture, with another fun Peking Opera session with Ms. Cao Hui and her two colleagues. This year, the international students also enjoyed staging a fun scene from a classic Peking Opera! With horse riding, singing and dancing, it was a wonderful way to bring the students together to form new international friendships, and experience one of China’s heritage arts!

Thank you to Ms. Cao Hui and her colleagues for yet another wonderful lecture!

We’ll be looking forward to another exchange visit with our guests from LJMU next year! I’m sure it’s going to be another wonderful visit and chance to enjoy lifelong friendships, plus cultural exchange!?

Thanks also to our two return speakers this month, Mr. Jack Meng from Athlone Institute and Dr. Collin Starkweather for their wonderful talks at the BCC.

As part of the BCC’s ‘Business Professionals Lectures’, Jack introduced how sports and exercise build not only a healthy mind and body, but also professional success.

Dr. Starkweather gave another high caliber technical introduction to AI and its usage in global economic markets.

Thanks very much to both Jack Meng and Dr. Starkweather for sharing their wisdom and experience with our students from both USST, everyone attending benefitted greatly from their expertise! We’re looking forward to working with them both at the BCC in the future!
